Rams, Lady Rams to Close Out 2010 Outdoor Season at Tony Waldrop Tar

Goodwin 05/07/10 WSSU looking to end season on a high note CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Winston-Salem State University Rams and Lady Rams track & field teams will close out the 2010 outdoor season at the 2010 Tony Waldrop Tar Heel Invitational. After some solid performances throughout the season, the Rams and Lady Rams will look to end the 2010 season in style as they head to Chapel Hill, N.C. for the first time during the outdoor season. The Rams are expecting a number of top performances at the meet with sophomore Andrew Chebii looking for a strong end to the season. The sophomore is currently ranked third in the USTFCCCA Division II Regional rankings with a season-best 1:52.75 in the men’s 800m run at the 2010 Wake Forest Open. The Lady Rams’ relay teams will look to close out the season on a high note with both relay units ranking in the USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Atlantic Region top ten. The Lady Rams’ 4x100m relay team is currently ranked fifth in the Atlantic Region after a 47.77 in the event at the 2010 Wake Forest Open. The team is currently ranked eighth in the 4x400m relay with a 3:58.74 at the 2010 Wake Forest Open as well. The teams will look to finish on a high note and move up in those rankings with their effort this weekend. The 2010 Tony Waldrop Tar Heel Invitational is scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start with field events. Track events are scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start. |
